A Christmas Surprise!

We had a fun little surprise for my family on Christmas morning. We had my mom open a gift that was a baby bottle with a note attached saying:
WE ARE HAVING A BABY!!
Due on the 4th of July!
That's right folks. I'm preggers! Can you believe it? Because I certainly cannot.
We are SO excited. Especially Brandon. He would have been fine if we had a honeymoon baby. Never met a man who loved children so much! He was the one that bought the pregnancy test and made me take it, cuz I really did not think that I was pregnant. And when it came out positive, I was freaking out (to say the least) and he was just so happy and content. He will make the best Dad.
I am 13 weeks today. We got to hear the heartbeat a few weeks ago and it was really weird, but really cool! Still doesn't feel real. Except for the fact that I have been SO SICK. Throwing up everything I eat. Lost 6 lbs in the past few weeks. Missing way too many hours at school. Absolutely miserable. But, it'll all be worth it right??
I am scared out of my mind but am so grateful that Heavenly Father has entrusted us with one of His precious children. I remember when my friend Angelique was pregnant and said that she was really scared but knew that "Heavenly Father is always going to be there to help her"
I have been praying for strength a lot lately.

The Wondrous Gift of Christmas

Last Friday we got to go with almost Brandon's whole family to see the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's Christmas concert in the Conference Center. We got there a little early was able to meet up with Brandon's uncle, Elder Andersen, and "chat" with him for a little bit. (Gave Brandon a big hug, couldn't remember my name but then was like "Oh yes, with the GREAT family in Arizona! haha)
We got to go to our fav restaurant California Pizza Kitchen with Brandon's siblings before the concert. Yum!
Natalie Cole was the guest artist...she was okay.
Overall, it was a great night!
(Oh yeah, except for getting car sick on the drive home. I am such a child.)

Can you spot the Temple in the background??

Now Brandon is trying to make it through finals and I am getting in as many hours as I can before heading down to good 'ol Beaver for Christmas! Sooo excited!!
Merry Christmas, everyone!

Goooo Cougars!!

My first BYU vs. Utah game!

It was a pretty intense, long and cold game, and the Cougs actually played pretty crappy. But, we came out with the W and that's all that matters in life right?

John and Care came down for the game, too. We miss them!

Turkey Day

So, since I'm horrible at taking pictures, I was hoping to steal some pics from Robbie's blog..but she takes too long ;) So here are the lame pics from this year!
We went up to Burley and it was tons of fun! His mom always takes such good care of us when we visit. It was full of tons of food and fun. Even Brandon's sister Katie, who lives in New York, was there with her cute family! Unfortunately we missed his sister Holly (mother of 6 kids, including a new baby) who got really sick with Swine Flu, which turned into Pneumonia and a stay at the hospital! We are grateful to hear that she is doing better now.

This was my first Andersen Thanksgiving!
Every year they do a Ping Pong tournament. It's pretty intense (as is every game in that family!)

John and Hez playing
I had to play Robbie first.
She is preggo and still beat me!

And then I lost to his mom. Haha

Brandon and Ben in the Championship game!!

Brand REALLY wanted to win, and it was super close...but Ben came out with the victory. Brandon was really happy for him...After a YUMMY dinner and a game of football that I was forced to play in, and didn't make a single catch (have I mentioned how much I love to play sports with this family?? ;) we had the family Christmas party cuz not all of us will be together for actual Christmas.

Here are the kids in the Nativity
And that's all folks.

We have been so blessed this past year!!!

Tough Guys

Here's a group pic of Brandon's intramural flag football team this year. They made it all the way to the Elite 8! Frankly, I'm quite glad that they didn't go any further....those games were getting too cold for me to sit and watch!!

Bridal Shower

These lovely ladies were my roommates freshman year. Scratch that- the only roommates I ever had ;) They were all a year older than me, but we became best friends instantly! They are all such great girls and we had some gooood times together.
Carly (black shirt) is getting married on the 19th! This pic is from her bridal shower. Loved being able to catch up with these girls!

Happy Birfday!

Our internet has been crappy lately, so this post is a little late. But, Brandon celebrated his 24th birthday this past Wednesday!! His parents were able to come down and take us to dinner, stock us up on Costco goodies, and watch Brandon and Heather's intramural basketball and football games. (Shout out to Heaz for the being the BYU intramural girl's football champion!) Later that night we had some friends over for Norma's famous carrot cake! It was a busy and fun day.

This has been my favorite pic of Brandon lately. It was taken when my family was here for BYU's homecoming. These two cuties were constantly fighting for "Boo's" attention. I love how much he loves kids and know he is going to be an AMAZING father someday.

Happy Birthday babe! Brandon is a better husband than I could have asked for. He is constantly taking care of me and is such an awesome example to me.
LOVE YOU :)

Football

Brandon's intramural football team has done really well this year! They were undefeated and ranked number 10 out of about 250 teams!
It's been really fun to watch him as Quarterback

Until Wednesday night. My poor boy was going up for an interception, caught the ball, but then rolled his ankle. As he winced in pain, the ball fell loose and the other team ended up catching it for a touchdown :(

It's a really bad sprain and is way swollen but he can walk on it pretty good now. We are trying to nurse it back to health because now it is tournament for football, and he is also playing on co-ed and 3 on 3 basketball teams!
Oh, and they ended up loosing the game by one touchdown :(

Sale and Awards

Last weekend we went to Idaho for the State Sale. Brandon had decided to sell one of his heifers. As you can guess from this stupid economy, it was a pretty low sale and he didn't get nearly as much as we were hoping for.

The next day they had a Holstein convention in Twin Falls. I skipped out on the boring meetings ;) and just came for the luncheon where Brandon's parent's were receiving two very important awards!

Norma was awarded "Dairy Woman of the Year" which was very much deserved. I love how she really is a big part of their business and the way she raised her 8 children to be hard workers from a young age.

They showed this really neat video about Alan before he received his award..

2009 Master Breeder of the Year!

Alan with his mother

With 6 of their 8 childrenWe then spent Sunday in Burley with his parent's. Before we left to go home, Norma stocked us with fresh apples, a box of potatoes, homemade salsa and jam, canned food..and much more! It was sweet!
I am so blessed to have such wonderful In-laws! They are some of the kindest people I have ever met and are great examples to Brandon and I. (Not to mention the fact that they raised "such a good boy" as Norma likes to put it ;)
